MHORfish Swimbaits

Hard bodied Swimbaits are one of the latest lures out, they started off in the USA where they were used for Largemouth Bass fishing and Trolling for Trout in the Californian Lakes. They can be cast or trolled they are a floating multi jointed hand carved and hand painted wooden Swimbait. When drawn through the water they have a realistic swimming motion as the body  snakes from side to side they are shallow running and will get down to 3 to 4 ft deep, they can be trolled with the aid of Divers Downriggers or lead core to get to other depths.

Swimbaits are airbrushed to imitate the prey fish that Pike, Ferox Trout and other Predators feed on, if you fish Trout waters for Pike they will be a worthwhile inclusion in your tackle box, we have had reports from anglers that the custom painted natural baits have out fished their standard lures  by a ratio of 3 to 1 and often being the only lures to catch .

Each lure is hand painted   and finished with 2  coats of Epoxy clear coat to give a rock hard  glossy finish the hardware fitted is Eagleclaw  or VMC 2X strong treble hooks and 2x strong split rings.

The range of colours cover 3 variations of Brown Trout, the standard Brown with red and white spots, and the Loch Trout that has a green silvery sheen to it and is covered in black spots through to the Dark Brown that comes from dark Peaty stained waters as well as the Smolt ,Char and Rainbow trout patterns that even have tails that match the natural fish's colours and spot patterns.

TROLLSCOT SWIMBAITS

Hand made and individually airbrushed Swimbaits made from Scottish hardwoods. A range of  jointed plug swimbaits that are ideal for casting or trolling when cast these floating lures can be retrieved slowly to make a wake at the surface or can be jerked or twitched  to look like a wounded fish struggling to swim. When trolled they  will get down to 3 to 4 ft deep  and can be put on Downriggers Leadcore etc to get down deeper for deep lying fish.

Each lure is hand turned on a lathe and the blank lure is then impregnated with a liquid plastic to waterproof the wood then the gradual process of painting starts with two coats of undercoat and then layers of pearlescent paint shading to match the natural colours of the prey fish, then the detail is added and a coat of chameleon paint to give the natural sheen that comes off  Trout and Perch etc and finally two coats of Epoxy clear coat to seal the paint job and protect it from the attention it is going to get from the teeth of Pike and Ferox Trout.
