Downriggers Downrigger are for controled depth fishing, when you are out in your boat and see fish showing on the Sonar at 50ft , you can send a lure or bait directly to them and with the right Sonar set up you can "see" your lures going right through the holding fish. You can also use your Downriggers to run your lures just off the bottom and putting them right in the face of fish lying in structure near to the bottom. The Cannon Easi Troll2-HS Model is the worlds best selling downrigger and its easy to see why , its an ideal size for Smaller boats, it is easy to mount to the boat. The Tab lock feature allows you take the rigger on and off the boat easily leaving only the base mounted to the boat. I have used them for the past 10 years on my boat and they have performed flawlessly, most of the waters I fish are in the 50ft deep range which is ideal for a manual down rigger, the 1.5 foot retrieve per turn of the handle allows me to quickly bring up the cannonball over reefs or snags that my come up during the day.
